A great cause for a great girl. Here's the story of our family's fight for Tallin's sight.
Tallin was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on April 20th, 1999 at a healthy 6lbs 6oz. At three months old, we noticed that something was not right. Tallin's pupils were not responding to light and had severe shaking of the eyes.
After an appointment with a pediatrician, she was sent directly to the Denver Children's Hospital. After several tests, the doctors concluded that Tallin had Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH).
ONH can be found in one or both eyes, and in Tallin's case, it was both eyes.
Tallin is a great girl who leads a pretty normal life for someone with this disability. Although she has limited eyesight, she loves to swim, loves music, and spend time with loved ones. She also enjoys dancing, singing, and is a hoot in front of the camera!
Some of the things Tallin is not able to do is play school sports, read without a projector, see fireworks on the 4th of July, amongst many other things.
We would love to see Tallin be able to see a sunset, drive a car, cook her own meals, and see what her own face looks like. We would love her to see the beauty that God has created, that most of us take for granted. What would it be like if we couldn't see what color the flowers were, or the colors of the rainbow? How about the wind blowing through the trees or what bee's look like? Wouldn't it be great to see the emotion in her face as she watches the seasons change?!
As her family, we are fighting for Tallin's sight. But we need your help!
